Feel the goddess within you

The last couple of months I have been on an interesting journey to re-discover my own femininity. I had felt that I was in my masculine energy for far too long in the last couple of years and I had this deep need to perceive myself as a full-blooded woman again. Although friends told me that I was I had difficulty feeling it deep down within myself.

So I emerged into this journey. There are several pieces of the puzzle that have made it all come together so far. Although what I describe below is just scratching the surface I still hope you feel inspired on your own journey.

It started off with making little changes about my appearance, like changing the way I dressed, letting my hair grow longer and swaying my hips more often. I also created new little rituals around my well-being, like being still and just listen – listen to what my inner goddess was trying to tell me and I wouldn´t pay attention as I kept myself too busy. It is about remembering. There is a lot of wisdom there.

A major part was a lot of healing work on myself to let go of what was holding me back and with the support of some remarkable people I went deep to discover more of my secrets. I have to admit that this was truly making a difference moving forward.
I also got more fascinated with feminine leaders and was reading up on goddesses and heroines in mythology of various cultures. Bit by bit I began to feel more comfortable in my own skin again, like a home coming. Life is flowing in a different way now and I feel much more settled and comfortable with myself. And I am sure people around me have noticed it in one way or another, perceiving me as more radiant and free.

Of course the journey is far from over, but I have to say that life is different, actually better, now. All the small things…

Have you gone through something similar in your life or are you going through your own journey at the moment? Ever thought about the masculine and feminine qualities in yourself? Are you feeling balanced? It does not matter whether we were born in a male or female body, each of us carries both aspects to live a meaningful life. I will give you some more information on that in a separate article in my blog soon.

When I started to feel more feminine and balanced again, I was inspired to write a poem about being in my own goddess power. We are all goddesses, we just have to allow her to come out and let her do her thing! Enjoy!

I am a goddess

I am a goddess

I feel it in the sway of my hips, the soft curves of my body

I follow the circles of life and death

the rhythm of life beats within me

I am light and I am dark

I am gentle, but strong

a loving companion

a caring mother

a fierce ally and a wrathful opponent

I am a goddess

perfect in every way

I have many looks,

but I am always steady-hearted

I am the sun and the moon

I am the flowing river and the fertile land,

the luscious forest and the dry desert

I am the burning heat and the freezing cold

I fly with the wind, yet am rooted deeply in the earth.

I am life, I am spirit.

Below I show you some of the books about women and feminine characters throughout history and mythology that inspired me on my path:

Just remember the tale of Persephone (Greek mythology) who goes down into the underworld to only re-emerge with more sacred knowledge, having found a true part of herself. In one way or another we are still on that journey, for sure I have found myself there. It is worth it!

This list is far from complete. There are also several podcasts and local groups dealing with the feminine energy and leadership that made me feel like there are a lot of women out there in the world that are on a similar journey. Just get in touch with me personally if you are interested in those.
